TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR THE LEASE OF COMMUNITY HALLS


No nails may be driven into wood, walls and stage.

 

Smoking is strictly prohibited in all community halls.

 

No cigarette butts may be deposited in flower pots.

 

Crockery must be washed and dried.

 

Crockery must be sorted in order.

 

Any damage to crockery or the building will be the responsibility of the lessee.

 

All branches, tins, stones and trees used during the function must be removed by the lessee.

 

All music must be within acceptable noise norms and must be stopped promptly at 24:00.

 

No equipment of the municipality may be removed during or after a function

 

All décor must be removed before 12:00 the following day.

 

The lessee is responsible for the cleaning of the hall, kitchen and pub.

 

All waste material, including food, must be removed in a proper manner.

 

Council will not be held liable for any equipment of the lessee lost or damaged during functions.

 

No motor cycles or small cars will be permitted in the hall.

 

If a braai or spitbraai is held outside during a function the lessee must ensure that the area is cleaned and that all fat on the paving is properly washed away.

 

Fixtures inside the hall such as curtains, lights on the stage etc may not be removed.

 

The lessee is responsible for his own sound equipment.

 

Tables and chairs must not be dragged over the wooden floors.

 

Walls must under no circumstances be dirtied.

 

No décor may be attached to the curtains of the hall

 

The lessee will be responsible if any toilet is dirtied or damaged during the function.

 

The keys to the hall must be returned to the hall manager by 14:00 the next day.

 

The payment of a refundable breakages deposit is required simultaneously with the reservation of the hall.

 

Approval for the refund of the deposit will be given upon confirmation that everything is in order by a joint inspection after the function. 

 

The deposit will be refunded within 5 working days.

 

The fixed rental must be paid within 48 hours after the reservation of the hall, in failing which the reservation will lapse automatically.

 

If any damages occurred it must be repaired within 24 hours by the lessee, in failing which the deposit will be utilised for this purpose. If the cost of repairs exceeds the deposit the lessee will be required to pay the shortfall to the Municipality within seven (7) days.
